No extreme mobility practices or exotic spiritual routines. We focus on functional movement and practical mindfulness in service of your life as it is right now.
And your life is pretty weird, isn't it.
This is movement work for real grown ups in the real world. It's not about getting shredded or ripped or jacked or swole or yoked or whatever. It's not about being a contortionist, either. (Weird.) It's about restoring a sense of freedom to the work of being a person in a body.
The online jungle can leave us feeling a little untethered and isolated when we are trying to put together a routine. My work - that's me, Kyle, typing the ad copy right now - is to support you as you develop and grow a practice that sustains your well being for years to come.
My name is Kyle. I have been a yoga teacher since 2011 and a complete weirdo since the ol' self concept booted up in earnest around 1985-1986. I live in Vermont with my dog Kayzo (AKA "Bean") who is the finest assembly of carbon in the world (you will learn).
I have been helping people understand and use their bodies in new ways for over a decade. It's what I do. My method starts in Yoga but reaches outward in many directions from there. It's got a bunch of Anusara alignment, a little bit of Tai Chi, a dash of Postural Restoration, and a sprinkling of Animal Movement. It's a real jambalaya but don't worry. The basics are simple.
First we breathe.
Oh hey.
So if you've gotten to the bottom of this page you're probably inquisitive and skeptical. Makes sense. Me too. So look, here's the brass tacks. I want you to feel like your body does what you ask it to do. And along the way, I want you to get in touch with other people working towards that same feeling. That's it. That's the holy grail; a bunch of weirdos on the internet who commit their weirdo internet energy towards feeling good and helping other people feel good. Wouldn't that be cool?
Well that's what's happening, piece by piece, at Rare Form Movement. Hence the website. And the contact button, right there. If you've got questions, that thing sends words through the wires right to yours truly.
